Tuition for the year is $900. There is a one-time Registration Fee of $25, and $50 in books and materials fees. Tuition can be paid monthly ($100 per month), due before or at the first lesson of each month. Registration, book and material fees, and one month's tuition and due by Aug 29. 

Foundations4Preschool is Brenham Music Academy's program for ages 2-5. We use a wide variety of curricula for this class including Piano Prodigies, Kiddy Keys, Wunderkeys, and Faber's My First Piano Adventure. In this class we have musical fun! Foundations4Preschool is an introductory course in music, movement, and piano preparation that is designed specifically for pre-school children who might be interested in piano studies in kindergarten or first grade, Children as young as two years old can benefit developmentally from these classes, although for two year olds we ask that the parents attend the class with the student. In general, the classes include:

Pitch exploration: Students will learn about what our voices can do.

Rhythm: Students will learn to keep a steady beat and learn call and response songs. Students will play percussion instruments and learn the difference between short and long sounds. 

Preschool Prodigies- Students will learn hand signs for notes along with solfège. They will learn notes by color and will begin with playing bells associated with the same color of the note. We will play along with the Piano Prodigy entrepreneur, Mr. Rob! In addition, we will dance and play along with rhythm videos. 

Keyboard: Students closer to ages 4-5 will learn the names of the keys and have songs and activities to help them become comfortable with the piano keys and keyboard keys. Concepts we will learn include high and low, soft and loud, black keys and white keys, two and three black key groups, finger numbers, and the musical alphabet. 

Mini-Songs: We will learn simple echo songs and call and response songs.

Movement Exploration: Students will dance with scarves, conduct with ribbon wands, and participate in group parachute activities.

Music Story Time: Children will  learn nursery rhymes that help them to memorize words and concepts and give them a good foundation in rhythm and meter. We will learn to clap along and play shakers to the meter! 

Preschoolers are not expected to "play piano" at this age. Let your child be a sponge and soak up the fun of music. The habit of being in music class every week will be such a joyful time for them, they will want to continue learning when they are ready to tackle the challenge of tickling the ivories!l
